Around the World in Deviled Eggs
Thai - Cajun - Curry - Wasabi
When I think about the deviled egg, it reminds me of a quote from Bridget Jones's Diary...
"My mum, a strange creature from the time when gherkins were still the height of sophistication."
However, with a few simple twists a deviled egg can become a delicious surprise!
Recipes make 16 deviled egg halves.
Thai Peanut Deviled Eggs
Ingredients
8 large eggs1/2 cup peanut butter (*I prefer natural for flavour, but you may opt for commercial peanut butter for its fluffy texture)
1 tbsp Sriracha sauce
1 tsp each salt & pepper
1/2 cup fresh cilantro
Step 1
Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once water is at a rolling boil, cover and remove saucepan from heat. Leave eggs to cook for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Peel eggs under running water and slice each in half.
Step 3
Scoop yolk of each egg half into a mixing bowl and place remaining whites on serving tray.
Step 4
Add peanut butter, Sriracha sauce, salt and pepper to yolks and mix until blended and smooth.
Step 5
Spoon or pipe yolk mixture back into the centre of each egg half. Top each with one or two cilantro leaves and serve!
Creamy Cajun Deviled Eggs
Ingredients
8 large eggs1 3oz package of cream cheese, at room temperature
1 tsp hot sauce
1 tsp each salt & pepper
1/2 tsp cajun seasoning
Step 1
Repeat steps 1 through 3 above.Step 2
Add cream cheese, hot sauce, salt and pepper to yolks and mix until blended and smooth.Step 3
Spoon or pipe yolk mixture back into the centre of each egg half. Sprinkle each with cajun seasoning and serve!
Indian Curry Deviled Eggs
Ingredients
8 large eggs1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp hot sauce
1 tsp curry powder
Step 1
Repeat steps 1 through 3 above.Step 2
Add mayonnaise, dijon mustard, hot sauce and curry powder to yolks and mix until blended and smooth.Step 3
Spoon or pipe yolk mixture back into the centre of each egg half. Serve!
Hot Wasabi Deviled Eggs
Ingredients
8 large eggs
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp wasabi paste
1 tsp each salt & pepper
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp wasabi paste
1 tsp each salt & pepper
1/2 tsp ground ginger

Add mayonnaise, wasabi paste, salt and pepper to yolks and mix until blended and smooth.Step 3
Spoon or pipe yolk mixture back into the centre of each egg half. Sprinkle each with cajun seasoning and serve!
